Let Angels Lay

Sleep little angel, in your cotton bed,  the one we wrought for you today,  to rest beneath your head.   
The stars bequeath you doze this day  to slumber forsaking dreams,  and take beyond what things you may.  
 
Twice the heavens opened their faultless seams  to bring upon your tired remains,  a hallucination that God deemed.  
 
When the sun shines, darkness will drain;  the earth bathed in sunlight,  upon which you shall refrain.  
 
The darkness is your delight,  a home to which you were born;  dreams are your victuals, which you fight   
This was originally an entry for a contest in which I won 2nd place under the category of terza rima, but it quickly became my favorite piece. The story of a rural family burying their little girl from the perspective of the father. Do not let death take from us what we can not give, for only we can fill the emptiness that abounds from without. Please enjoy and let me know what you think.

Slowly getting there

Back?:


No, I'm not officially back yet. I'm slowly trying to get there, but I'm having a lot of problems with creativity right now. It isn't unique to just art either. I'm having a lot of problem expressing myself this semester in general. Don't quite know why. On the upside, I've been able to make a couple new lit templates, which are open to anyone so long as they give me credit. I made them for =rockgem's October Lit Templates Contest. All the details can be be found at her journal, and anyone can enter.

So hopefully, in the next couple weeks I'll be submitting some of my work out to publications for acceptance. I really slacked on this due to my decreased brain functioning, but I really think I have a couple pieces that are good enough for publication. One of the places will be my school's literary magazine. I don't know when the due date is, but I am hopeful to be accepted this year. I probably won't and will only further rack my brain with reasons for not writing whether I want to or not.

Birthday:


So I logged onto dA yesterday and the ticker changed to 2 years, so I looked and apparently I first joined dA on October 18th, so yesterday was my official 2nd birthday on dA.

Mental Health:


One of the main reasons I'm not on dA much anymore is my mental health has sort of done a 360. I started going through extreme mood changes and was told by my parents that although they never mentioned it, my family has a history of manic depression. Yeah for me! not :lol: So yeah, this semester has been a bit more stressful and it is bringing my manic depression out for the world to see (Yes I have cried in class for no reason or prompting and am often on the fringe of breaking down in my room) Fantastic, huh? Anyway, I'm not doing as bad as I was when it first came up, but it is still something I have to be aware of.

How are all you? You haven't left me yet, right? Would be nice to come back to some smiling faces, but I can't blame you for abandoning me. I haven't been around in a while. If you don't intend on watching anymore, let me know and say good bye or something, would be nice...

People I admire and love:


Some are great friends, others are like family, and others are just great artists I inspire to become more like, but all of them I care a lot about and thank who ever is up there looking out for me, that I found them or they found me :hug::love:
