For example: If this wasn't geared toward a person in the literal sense like it is in this poem, and instead in the metaphorical sense, like the parallels of feelings toward friends and pets, sometimes, then I feel you would've accomplished your goal and I'd have nothing but praise to say to you here.
Poem's excellent. Picture's stunning. But it's like placing two top notch actors up against each other with a bad director on the helm of the film, they're going to try to out act the other. You, as the director (not saying you're bad), need to accommodate each piece so they compliment each other and making the piece great as a whole, instead of having people look at "well this was better than..." or "I wish they didn't have that in there..."
The way I'd suggest is to invert the perspective. Instead of her not being back, she won't be there when you come home (or return), and don't have them call you anything (as fish don't talk, haha).
I don't know...those are suggestions.
Vision: 3 stars. I liked where you were going with it, but the emotion of the poem and picture don't fit together.
Originality: 3.5 stars. I wanted to boost this up because of the fish...but you didn't make it relate to the fish. If you did, I'd probably given you 4.5 or 5.
Technique: 3 stars
Impact: 2 stars because it would have more of an impact if the poem and picture worked together, but they force the reader to pick and choose which one they like more.
