Please don't cry for me

My dear child,
please understand that I wrote this here today
to stop those tears from flowing
after you realize that I am gone.

The day, like you, once was young,
but time has passed,
and alas my dear child,
you have changed.

I remember all those good times,
all those smiles and laughs;
you were always
as happy as can be.

Today I am gone,
and I’m not coming back,
so remember those good times my child,
and do not question what may not be.

Please stop the tears dear child,
you will always be a part of me,
but I cannot be a part of you,
so go on, and please do not cry,
for I will always be looking down at thee.
